    I fear that it's not only California. (By the way...did you notice that the prosecutor urged the judge not to declare him innocent? Wanna bet that was so the state wouldn't get sued for big money for wrongful prosecution?). Zenohamy posted an article a week or so ago about the FBI's hair analysts 'overstating' (read: Lying) about results in 95% of the cases on the side of the prosecutors! Some of these were capital offenses!

    I think it's fair to say the our criminal justice system is very badly flawed and broken, but where do we begin?

    Prosecution is all about winning and not about justice. It's a career path after all. ugh

      Everything here now is about winning. We never, as a nation, seemed to grip the concept of "reasonable self-interest". People approach each proposed law as though they are cheering for the Raiders vs. the Niners. Just a bunch of pea-brains...
