Civil Commitment Laws

In the UNited States, a person can be forcibly committed to a mental institution if they are "a danger to themselves or others," even if they have never committed a crime. Basically, if a doctor says a person is dangerous, than they are committed. Are you against civil commit laws? I assume the answer is yes, that you are against civil commitment laws, but I figured I'd ask anyway.

    As the population of children with autism continues to explode they will be forcibly taking those children from the families and putting them in institutions. A recent family law court ruling has set the precedent for that and it answers a question I've had in my mind for a while - how will the system deal with this population that is starting to overwhelm the education system?

    This government is starting to get to the point where it thinks people need to start disappearing...as paranoid as that may sound.

    A Congressman or Senator is immune from prosecution in civil or criminal court for actions they have taken in the official capacity of legislator, no matter what the damages their actions may have caused.

    If that's not being a danger to others worthy of being committed then I don't know what is.
