For a film to really come across as a novel translation, I think a film must be at least 2 hours and 45 minutes. And in this case, it's just not possible. For Star Wars fans, 'Attack of the Clones' was a fantastic book, but only 2/3rds of that ended up on the screen. Lucas had it in his head that films must stay at 2 hours because of screening times. But the 2 hour limit cuts down the literary translation by a lot. So it becomes a business decision at that point. What matters most with this film is like the author said, the "Mainstreaming" of Atlas. That is the key!| Permalink
