The 14th Amendment seems to be as widely expanded a part of our Constitution as the various General Welfare, Commerce, Property, and Supremacy clauses.

Any holes in this argument?

Although the argument may be sound, the issue will eventually boil down to getting a case before SCOTUS as well as the court's precedence in the application and definitions of reasonableness and government interest.

The next 8 to 10 years will have a significant impact on the makeup of the court.

No. About time. If they are going to force federal supremacy at least provide the same protections we had against federal supremacy
