‘Breatharian’ couple survives on ‘the universe’s energy’ instead of food

I do not even know where to begin to analyze if this is true, fake, mystic or what. I know there are a lot of things I do not understand about how the universe works, but this just seems so off the track as to be something one would think would be a scientific goldmine. The claims are a bit off the wall, but I do not want to be closed minded to new data.

Speaking as someone who was schooled in biology, no proof is necessary. It's flatly impossible. I don't require any study or proof. My own body of knowledge is sufficient. These people are liars and charlatans. End of story.

Indeed, I think I got more agitated over the complete lack of any factual data, just statements. I would have thought it was a government study at first....

While I agree with you, it just seems so easy to prove, one way or another. The fact Snopes says " A study proved" does not prove squat without some reference to said study. Snopes "disproof" is no proof at all.

While it is possible to fast on very little food for weeks (with the intent of giving your liver a chance to repair itself) I think this belongs in, "if it seems to good to be true, it probably is."

It's fake. Period. End of story. The people claiming this are lying.

You got better results than I did, or I missed the Snopes tag. They do mention "when tested", but no details, no data, which is just as bad as their assertions. I would think it would be a simple matter of doing a monitored test for a week and seeing what happens. Oh well, maybe I just get excited at people who make outrageous claims and no one seems to question it, or maybe rational people are not even bothering....Maybe they are the dietary equivalent of Progressives... Thanks for the Snopes tag, I didn't even think they would cover it..

Yep, I am with you, but it just seems so weird, if it was a totally fabricated idea, you would see something, right? I looked around and this is as real as vegans and all the rest of the "exclusive food" groups. But air?

I am a foodarian last night I survived on a nice ribeye with baked potato , sweet potato, and salad. Oh yes and a big frosty glass of milk.
I just let the universe do the rest.
