I totally hear ya! I don't think Romney is going to slow gov't growth down very much. We need someone who will REDUCE the size of government, get red tape out of the way, get rid of entire departments full of bureaucratic BS and let "We the People" hang on to the money we earned ourselves. Romeny will not be as bad for the US as Obama and hopefully 4 years from now we have a charasmatic libertarian or other party with a constitutionalist mindset!

We need more adults in our country. People who are willing to make the hard choices knowing they are doing the right thing regardless of what people may say about them.

But do you think that you would truly love your child if you didn't respect them? Isn't all love actually conditional love? If your child was betraying the moral principles you bestowed upon them then it would be understandable to lose affection for them.

Not to say that at that point you should try! Or want to love them, so then help to guide them to where they should be.

It was a really good point Christie made. And Ann Romney was phenomenal! What a wonderfully classy, intelligent lady! But I am so conflicted about this election. We (our country) absolutely CANNOT tolerate another four years of that arrogant ... man occupying the White House. But I see Romney as one more big government elitist who will continue the erosion of our liberties and freedom and keep us in perpetual wars to fuel the military-industrialists, but do it just a bit more slowly. Perhaps the "slowly" part can serve to buy us more time to get our message out to the masses. That's why I have reluctantly decided to cast my vote for Romney/Ryan, though I wish Ron Paul had been nominated. If you haven't seen "2016: Obama's America", please do.

That makes more sense. The interesting thing here is the relationship between love and respect. It my be possible to love your children without respecting them, but could you be "in love" without respecting the person? At first blush, I would say no since love is a reaction to the persons deepest values and sence of life.

Apparently, his mother was referring to women and how they treat themselves. But Gov. Christie parlayed it beautifully into how politicians are acting today. It's easy to be loved in the short-term. Simply promise the world to your constituents. You earn their respect by crunching the numbers, telling it to them straight, devising a plan to navigate the stormy seas ahead, and leading them through it!
